A new destination for boaters and non-boaters alike is about to open.
Accessible by land or sea, and with parking for cars and boats, the George Town Yacht Club (GTYC) includes a club house with a restaurant and bar, changing rooms with showers and lockers, and a recreational fountain/pool for kids and the young at heart.
GTYC is the next step toward creating a world class marina community at the Barcadere, right here on Grand Cayman.

“We are looking forward to hearing from interested parties, and prospective members and receiving feedback on what we are planning or even what else needs to be included in order to make the GTYC Cayman’s first true yacht club, in the classic sense” said Neville Scott, one of the developers of the GTYC “Our goal is to create a facility that will provide a full roster of events and activities for our members; very family oriented during the day and on weekends, but also more mature and vibrant on Friday and Saturday evenings and during special events.” He also went on to say that “While there will be other benefits to GTYC membership, yet to be announced, access to the clubhouse and other on site facilities will be the basis on which it will all be centered!”

The second floor club house features a member’s lounge with large screen TVs for sports, artwork by Guy Harvey and a private bar area with a huge balcony overlooking the North Sound.  The ground floor is host to our restaurant and bar, one that anyone can dock their boat right up to, offering a casual “back porch” dining experience, where fresh seafood and local ingredients meet to create a menu that is a fusion of Caribbean and International cuisine.

The Cracked Conch team manage GTYC, so you can be assured the food and the service are outstanding. According to the general manager, Matthew Moore"The Cracked Conch Team is thrilled to be involved with the Barcadere Marina project and the opening of the George Town Yacht Club.  Everyone involved is looking forward to bringing their experience and knowledge down to the Yacht Club this fall and being a part of Cayman's newest Restaurant and Marina."

Located right on the waterfront at The Barcadere Marina, GTYC is perfect place to relax after a day out on the water, or unwind after a day in the office, to share your fish stories, or simply hang out with good friends.  It is also the ideal place to host parties and events, as the clubhouse will be available for rent to individuals, companies, service clubs and other organizations to host fishing tournaments, birthday, Christmas and New Years Eve parties, business meetings, seminars, wedding Receptions, charitable and cultural events, or any other function, casual or formal.

The building team, led by Phoenix Construction, and including CGMJ architects, BCQS project management, Megasystems electrical and plumbing,  Polar Bear air-conditioning as well as Oasis Pool and Spa, are all very excited and proud to be a part if this historic development. “Neville Scott has a vision for the GTYC clubhouse that is consistent with everything he is doing at The Barcadere – it has to be first class, and it has to be perfectly executed. This facility will be a magnet for the boating and sport fishing community locally and internationally, and we  feel privileged to be involved in the creation of what will be Cayman’s first truly world class Yacht Club experience” said Phoenix Managing Director Shayne Howe.
