Barcadere Classic 2011

The third annual Barcadere Classic kicked off the 2011 fishing tournament schedule on 22-23 January at The Barcadere Marina.

This tournament was originally the “Naul Bodden Wahoo Classic” when Mr. Naul Bodden caught a record 105 lbs 10 oz Wahoo on Pickle Bank in February 1987. Formerly a Wahoo only tournament that ran every February, Mr. Bodden’s record stood uncontested until June 2007 when Mr. Elvet Conolly caught a Wahoo weighing 146 lbs 2 oz on board Mike Ebanks’ boat “Ms. Michelle” just off the coast of the North Side. June is typically a slow time for catching Wahoo, for that reason, Mr. Elvet’s catch was that much more remarkable and has since been unchallenged and remains the record to beat.
